Business Overview
The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock’s fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA’s principal objectives are to advance the firm’s risk management practices and to deliver independent risk expertise and constructive challenge to drive better business and investment outcomes. RQA’s risk managers play a meaningful role in BlackRock’s investment process, using quantitative analysis and a multi-disciplinary skills to tackle real-world problems and provide tangible solutions in the investment management process.

Enterprise Risk Technology & Tools Team
The Technology & Tools team is a new and growing team within RQA Enterprise Risk (ERM) that designs the technology used by thousands of users across the firm. This team is responsible for partnering with ERM management to construct, implement, and support the tools that ERM leverages to manage risk. The team works closely with the technologists in the Aladdin Product Group, BlackRock Solutions, and Technology and Operations divisions to develop the solutions addressing stakeholder requirements.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for candidates with proven project management and business analyst skills to join RQA to solve business problems through automation and technology solutions. Candidates will:
Develop a strong understanding of the ERM deliverables, workflows, system architecture, and data models to build enhancements and scalable solutions to support the evolving team needs
Document functional and technical requirements through collaboration with SMEs
Translate business requirements into project plans with timebound tasks and influence developers across to drive successful delivery that is on time, on scope and on budget
Work closely with stakeholders to identify barriers, proactively escalate relevant issues to senior management, and act as the primary point of contact for technology partners
Support and complete various efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation and standardization efforts
Challenge the status quo to drive operational excellence by constantly evaluate systems, processes, and procedures for inefficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement
Actively participate in discussions about new technology solutions and industry trends
Qualifications
A Master's Degree with 3-6 years of project management, or business analyst experience
Strong project management, organizational, and collaborative skills to develop and implement solutions
Familiarity and experience participating in the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Comfort running multiple concurrent projects with aggressive deadlines that have senior management visibility and managing resources to drive progress on urgent initiatives with evolving requirements
An ability to explain complex ideas in simple but impactful terms and experience using effective communication, written and verbal, to influence outcomes
Proactive attitude towards new technology combined with an ability to quickly assess the scale and budget of new projects
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively as part of a global team in a fast-paced environment
Flexible work schedule and comfort working hours outside local time zones to overlap with global leads in London and New York
A plus, but not required:
Experience with GRC tools such as Archer
Experience with project management and tracking tools such as JIRA, Miro, and Aha
Experience programming in languages such as Python or VBA
